Hole Saws Bi-Metal
ITM bi-metal variable pitch hole saws for wood, plastic, drywall and thin metal. Fractional and metric sizes from 9/16" up to 5-1/2" and larger, the everyday saw for trades.
Choosing a bi-metal hole saw
Bi-metal hole saws are the general-purpose saw for most trade work. The variable pitch teeth cut smoothly and with less vibration than a fixed pitch, and the bi-metal edge stays sharp through wood, plastic, drywall and thin metal. Electricians, plumbers and HVAC techs use them for conduit, pipe and duct openings.
This range is all ITM, in fractional sizes such as 9/16", 1-1/2" and 4-3/4" and metric sizes such as 50mm and 68mm. Each title lists the inch and millimetre size.
Drilling tips
Run at a moderate speed, slower for larger diameters. Use cutting oil on metal and keep the drill square to avoid a tapered hole. Back out now and then to clear chips. For abrasive material move to carbide grit, since a bi-metal edge will dull fast.

Common questions
What can a bi-metal hole saw cut?
Wood, plastic, drywall and thin metal. For tile and other hard, abrasive material use a carbide grit saw, and for tougher metal look at carbide tipped.
What does variable pitch mean?
The teeth are spaced at varying intervals along the blade. That spacing reduces vibration and lets the saw cut smoothly through more than one material.
Do the sizes include metric?
Yes. Titles list inch and millimetre sizes, and some saws are sold in metric sizes such as 50mm and 68mm.
