SDS-Max Extensions & Adaptors
ITM SDS-Max and spline extensions from 12-1/2" to 82-1/2", plus an X-Tendr adapter and an SDS-Max to SDS-Plus adapter. For reaching deeper with a rotary hammer or changing bit shank size.
Choosing an extension or adaptor
Extensions add reach when a bit is too short for the hole, such as drilling down through a deep slab or reaching overhead from a safe stance. The range is ITM: SDS-Max extensions at 12-1/2", 30", 44" and 82-1/2", spline extensions at 12-1/2" and 30", an X-Tendr Adapter and an SDS-Max to SDS-Plus Adapter.
Matching and using them
Match the shank first. SDS-Max and spline are different, so pick the extension that fits your rotary hammer and the bit you are running. An extension adds length, which adds flex. Keep the tool square to the work, use moderate pressure and back out to clear dust more often than with a short bit.
The SDS-Max to SDS-Plus Adapter lets you run an SDS-Plus bit in an SDS-Max tool. For the bits themselves, see SDS-Max drill bits.
