Step Drills 1/4" Hex Impact
ITM 1/4" hex impact-ready step drills with a self-centering 135° split point, in M2 HSS or M35 cobalt with TiAlN. Includes a 7/8" to 1-1/8" conduit step drill, and several listed for electricians.
Choosing an impact-ready step drill
These step drills have a 1/4" hex shank and are listed as impact ready, so they go straight into an impact driver or a quick-change chuck. Every bit has a self-centering 135° split point that starts without a punch, and most have fast-spiral flutes. Six of the nine are listed for electricians.
Six are M2 HSS. Three are M35 cobalt with a TiAlN coating, such as the 12-step 3/16" to 7/8" and the 13-step 1/8" to 1/2". There is also a 2-step conduit drill for 7/8" to 1-1/8".
Drilling tips
Clamp the work, use a light touch and cutting oil on steel, and let each step cut before pushing further. Stop at the size you need. For the 3/8" hex step drills, go to the standard-shank series.

Will these fit an impact driver?
Yes. They have a 1/4" hex shank and are listed as impact ready, so they suit impact drivers and quick-change chucks.
What is the difference between M2 and M35 here?
Six bits are M2 HSS. Three are M35 cobalt with a TiAlN coating, which suits tougher metals and heavier use.
Is there a bit for conduit holes?
Yes. The M2 2 Step Conduit Drill covers 7/8" to 1-1/8" on the same 1/4" hex shank.
