Straight Shank Rebar Cutters
ITM straight shank rebar cutters for drilling through reinforcing bar in concrete, in 17 sizes from 3/8" to 2-1/2". Made for drills with a chuck rather than SDS rotary hammers.
Straight shank rebar cutters
A straight shank rebar cutter cuts through reinforcing bar that stops an ordinary bit in concrete. These 17 ITM cutters run from 3/8" up to 2-1/2" in 16 diameters: 3/8", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2" and 2-1/2".
Most are 12" long, and the 3/8" is 8" long.
Using them
Check that your drill's chuck holds the shank. These are for chuck-type tools, so if you run SDS, look at the full rebar cutter range for SDS-Plus and SDS-Max. Start the hole at moderate speed, keep the bit square and ease off as you get through the bar. Clear the dust now and then.

Common questions
Will these fit an SDS rotary hammer?
No. Straight shank cutters are for a chuck. For SDS-Plus or SDS-Max, choose the matching SDS rebar cutters or punchers.
What sizes do you have?
17 cutters in 16 diameters, from 3/8" up to 2-1/2". Most are 12" long; the 3/8" is listed at 8".
How do I keep a rebar cutter from overheating?
Do not lean on the drill. Steady, moderate pressure works better than force, and clearing dust from the hole as you go keeps the tip cooler and the cut moving.
