Foundation Repair: Concrete Cutting
Diamond wheels for cutting slab perimeters for interior drain tile, opening slabs for piers and chasing cracks: 14" segmented wheels, 4" to 7" grinder wheels and a 4" tuck point wheel.
Diamond wheels for slab work
Interior drain tile and sump jobs start with a saw cut around the slab perimeter, then the concrete is broken out. Slab piers need the slab opened at each pier, and crack injection starts by chasing the crack.
- 14" diamond wheels: general use, heavy duty, multi-material and a demolition wheel for cut-off saws.
- 4" to 7" segmented and turbo wheels for angle grinders and circular saws, singles and 10-packs.
- 4" tuck point wheel for chasing cracks and mortar joints.
Let the segments do the cutting and do not force the saw; a wheel that stops cutting has usually glazed, and a few passes through an abrasive block will open it back up. Cutting, coring and grinding concrete releases respirable crystalline silica, and a basement holds it in. Cut wet where you can, or run a shroud on a HEPA-filtered extractor, and follow your company's exposure control plan.
