Walter COOLCUT is the general-purpose resin fibre disc in the line: aluminum oxide grain on a heavy fibre backing, sized for a 7/8" arbor so it runs on any angle grinder or sander with a backing pad. It is the disc for everyday work on steel — knocking down light welds, cleaning mill scale, rust and paint, and general blending where you are not trying to move a lot of metal in a hurry. The grain is applied electrostatically, which stands the grit upright and keeps the cut cool rather than burnishing the surface. If cost per disc matters more than cycle time, start here; step up to TOPCUT or COOLCUT XX when you need the metal off faster. This is the 7" 40 grit disc in aluminum oxide, for a 7/8" arbor.
