Hole Saws Arbors, Adapters & Kits
Both ITM arbors, the adapter nut, two 12" extensions and the five ITM hole saw kits. ARB-2 takes saws 9/16" to 1-3/16"; ARB-5 takes 1-1/4" to 6". Every kit includes both.
Choosing an arbor, an extension or a kit
The arbor is what holds a hole saw in the drill, and the thread on it decides which saws will fit. This group carries both ITM arbors, the adapter nut that bridges them, two 12" extensions, and the five ready-made ITM hole saw kits.
Picking an arbor by saw size. ARB-2 has a 1/2"-20 thread and carries saws from 9/16" to 1-3/16", on a 3/8" hex shank. ARB-5 has a 5/8"-18 thread and carries saws from 1-1/4" up to 6", on a 7/16" hex shank. If you already run a small arbor and need to mount a saw larger than 1-1/4", the adapter nut turns a 1/2"-20 thread into a 5/8"-18 so you do not have to buy a second arbor.
The kits. Every ITM kit ships with both arbors and a hardened pilot drill in a carrying case, so a kit is usually cheaper than buying the saws loose. The Electrician's and Master Electrician's kits run the sizes used for rough-in; the Plumber's kit runs the sizes used for supply and waste penetrations; the Maintenance kits cover 3/4" to 2-1/2" across the board, in bi-metal or carbide tipped for abrasive and stainless work. All are made in the USA.
Extensions. The two 12" extensions add length so a saw reaches through deep stud bays, boxes and cavities. They come in 3/8" hex and 7/16" hex — match the size to the arbor you already run so the parts lock together without play.
Drilling tips
Every inch of extension adds flex, so slow down and use a steady, light feed. Keep the drill square and use a side handle if your drill has one. Stop and clear the slug before it binds. Pair arbors with a hole saw sized for the job, and check that the saw is tight on the arbor before each cut.

Common questions
Which arbor do I need?
It depends on the saw. ARB-2 carries hole saws from 9/16" to 1-3/16" on a 1/2"-20 thread. ARB-5 carries 1-1/4" up to 6" on a 5/8"-18 thread. Both have a hex shank and a hardened pilot drill.
Can I use a small arbor on a large saw?
Only with the adapter nut. It turns a 1/2"-20 thread into a 5/8"-18, so an ARB-0, ARB-1 or ARB-2 will take a saw larger than 1-1/4".
Do the kits come with arbors?
Yes. Every ITM kit includes both ARB-2 and ARB-5, plus a pilot drill and a carrying case, so a kit needs nothing else to start cutting.
Which kit should I buy?
The Electrician's 8-piece covers 7/8" to 2-1/2" for rough-in, and the Master Electrician's 12-piece adds the in-between sizes up to 4-1/2". The Plumber's 8-piece runs 3/4" to 2-1/4". The Maintenance 11-piece covers 3/4" to 2-1/2" in bi-metal, and the Carbide Tipped version of it is the one for stainless and abrasive material.
What is an arbor extension for?
It lengthens the arbor so the hole saw reaches deeper, such as through a double stud or into a cavity. The extensions here are 12" long.
Which hex size do I need?
Match your existing arbor. The extensions come in 3/8" hex and 7/16" hex. If the sizes do not match, the extension will not fit.
