SDS-Plus Anchor & Concrete Screw Bits
ITM SDS-Plus stop drill bits sized for drop-in anchors, from 1/4" to 1", plus a nail-in anchor driver and an adapter. Most are carbide-tipped with a stop lip, for electricians and anchor installers.
Choosing an anchor setting bit
Drop-in anchors need the right hole diameter and a repeatable depth. These ITM SDS-Plus stop drill bits are sized for specific drop-in anchors, and most have a stop lip and meet the ANSI specification. Each title names the anchor it is sized for, so you do not have to work it out on the ladder.
Choosing the bit
Pick by anchor size. A 1/4" bit is for 3/16" drop-in anchors, 3/8" for 1/4", 1/2" for 3/8", 5/8" for 1/2", 7/8" for 5/8" and 1" for 3/4". Short anchors have their own bits, so match the title.
Drill with hammer action on an SDS-Plus rotary hammer until the stop lip meets the surface, then blow out the dust before you set the anchor. The range also has a 1/4" x 9" SDS-Plus nail-in anchor driver and an SDS-Max to SDS-Plus adapter.

Common questions
Which bit do I need for a 1/2" drop-in anchor?
A 5/8" SDS-Plus stop drill bit. There are separate listings for the standard and short 1/2" drop-in anchors, so read the title before you order.
What does the stop lip do?
It limits the depth of the hole. When the lip meets the surface you have drilled to the right depth for the anchor, so every hole is the same.
Do these need a rotary hammer?
Yes. They are SDS-Plus bits for a rotary hammer with hammer action on. An SDS-Max to SDS-Plus adapter is in the collection if you run an SDS-Max tool.
