Choosing Screw Extractors
A screw extractor bites into a drilled hole in a broken screw or stud so it can be turned out. These Drillco carbon steel extractors have a square shank for a tap wrench or similar driver. They come as singles, #1 for 3/32" to 5/32" screws up to #9 for 1-3/8" and larger, and as two sets: five extractors in a plastic case, and a 10 piece set with drills in a metal case.
Drill the hole straight and centered first, and go slowly: an extractor can break in a hard bolt.
