End Mills Corner Radius
Titan corner radius end mills for aluminum, with .010r, .020r or .040r corners in 2-flute and 3-flute styles, from 1/8" diameter up.
Choosing a radius end mill
A corner radius end mill has a small radius ground into each cutting corner instead of a sharp edge. That makes the corner stronger and less prone to chipping, and it leaves a matching fillet in pockets and at the base of walls. These 49 Titan mills are made for aluminum, and come in .010r, .020r and .040r.
Titles read diameter x length of cut x overall length, then the radius and flute count, for example 1/2" x 2" x 4" .040r 3-flute. Pick the radius that matches the fillet you want, and the shortest length of cut that reaches the depth you need.
Cutting tips
Run aluminum at high spindle speed with coolant or lubricant, and clear chips as you go. Keep stick-out short. If the drawing calls for a sharp inside corner, use a square end mill, because a radius mill cannot cut tighter than its own radius.

Common questions
What does .020r mean?
It is the corner radius, here 0.020" (twenty thousandths of an inch). The mill leaves a fillet of that size in an inside corner. The range has .010r, .020r and .040r.
Will a corner radius mill cut a sharp inside corner?
No. It leaves a fillet at least as large as its own radius. If you need a sharp inside corner, use a square end mill.
Should I pick a 2-flute or a 3-flute radius mill?
Both are made for aluminum. Two flutes give more chip room in deep slots and pockets. Three flutes are stiffer. Use coolant or lubricant and clear chips either way.
