Choosing a fast-spiral drill

Cyclo Twist is Tru-Cut's fast-spiral masonry drill line, 52 items in all. The fast flutes carry dust out quickly, which keeps long holes from packing and binding. Sizes run from 1/8" to 1-1/8" and lengths from 4" to 48", so one line covers anchor holes and long runs through walls.

Drilling tips

Start slowly so the tip does not skate, then bring the speed up. Hold the drill square to the work. Bending a long bit overheats it and shortens its life. Back the bit out from time to time to clear dust.

Some larger sizes are listed with a smaller shank, for example a 1/2" drill on a 1/4" shank, so check what your chuck takes. For a standard masonry drill in the same sizes, see ITM Slow Spiral.

Common questions

What is the difference between fast and slow spiral?

A fast spiral has a steeper twist that moves dust out of the hole quickly, which helps in deep holes. These Cyclo Twist drills are fast-spiral.

What lengths are available?

Lengths run from 4" up to 48", with 6", 13", 18" and 30" in between in selected sizes. Diameters run from 1/8" to 1-1/8".

Do these go in a hammer drill?

Masonry drills like these are normally run in a standard or hammer drill for brick, block and concrete. Check that the shank fits your chuck, since a few larger sizes have a reduced shank.
