Shower Doors
What a shower door installer drills with: V-Groove tile bits, glass bits, diamond core drills and SDS-Plus masonry bits, plus tile countersinks and end mills. ITM, Relton, Tru-Cut, Triumph and Weldon.
Tools for shower door installs
A frameless shower door install crosses several materials in one visit: anchor holes in tile, holes in glass for hardware, sometimes a bigger hole in hard porcelain, and anchors into the concrete or block behind the wall. This collection pulls the right bit for each job into one place.
Match the bit to the material
Tile and glass bits run in rotation only at low to medium speed with light pressure and a little water. SDS-Plus bits are made for a rotary hammer and belong in masonry, not on tile. Diamond core bits handle the hard porcelain and large holes that dull carbide.
The range also includes tile countersinks, tile end mills, Phillips bit tips for the hardware, and high-speed drill bits for metal frames and channels. Drill glass before it is tempered.

Common questions
What bits do installers use for frameless shower door hardware?
A V-Groove carbide bit for anchor holes in tile, a glass bit for holes through the glass panel, and an SDS-Plus or masonry bit for the wall behind. Diamond core bits handle hard porcelain and large holes.
Can I use hammer action?
Not on tile or glass. V-Groove tile bits and glass bits are rotation only. Use hammer only with SDS-Plus and masonry bits made for it, and only in concrete, brick or block.
Do you carry tile countersinks?
Yes. The range lists tile countersinks and tile end mills, including a 5/8" diamond milling cutter with a 5/8"-11 thread. Check the product page for the fit on your drill or grinder.
