Walter's 01V burrs are the heavy-duty end of the carbide burr range: solid tungsten carbide heads on a 1/4" shank, brazed with a high-strength joint that is built to stop the head snapping off the shank under load. Double cut means two sets of flutes crossing each other, which breaks the swarf into small chips instead of long curls — you get more control, a finer finish and far less grabbing than a single cut burr, which is why it is the cut most shops run on steel and stainless. Walter grinds these for concentricity and balance, so they run true without the vibration that chatters a finish and shortens tool life. This is the SG-2: a 5/16" pointed tree head with a 3/4" length of cut on a 1/4" shank. Surface milling and narrow contour work.
