3/8" x 1-1/4" SL-3 Cone, 14° Carbide Burr, Aluminum Cut

Aluminum cut burrs have widely spaced, single-direction flutes with a lot of chip clearance, and that geometry is the whole difference. Soft metals smear and weld themselves into a standard burr until it stops cutting and starts rubbing; an open flute throws the chip clear and keeps cutting. Use these on aluminum, brass, copper, magnesium, zinc and carbon fibre. They will cut steel, but a double cut burr will do it better and last longer, so keep the two apart rather than treating one as a general-purpose tool. This is the SL-3: a 3/8" cone, 14° head with a 1-1/4" length of cut on a 1/4" shank. Surface machining and narrow contour work.
