Data Center Construction
Bits, blades, hole saws and wheels for the electrical, mechanical, coring and fab shop crews on a data center job, sorted by the step of the work. SDS-Plus and SDS-Max tooling fits any rotary hammer with that chuck.
Data center consumables, step by step
On a data center job the trade subcontractors buy their own consumables, and the electricians and pipefitters go through the most. This page groups what those crews wear out by the step of the work, from the first anchor in the deck to the last stainless weld on the cooling loop. Every SDS-Plus and SDS-Max bit here fits any rotary hammer with that chuck, whatever brand your crew runs.
By job step
- Hangers & Tray Anchors: stop bits sized to drop-in anchors from 3/16" to 3/4", SDS-Plus 2-cutter and 4-cutter X-Cutter bits from 5/32" to 1-1/4", and multi-purpose carbide bits for the trapeze, strut and tray campaign.
- Rack & Equipment Anchors: X-Cutter SDS-Max bits 3/8" to 2" up to 52" overall, SDS-Plus bits 1/2" and up, tunnel drills and SDS-Max extensions for racks, PDUs, CRAH units and seismic bracing.
- Coring & Penetrations: diamond core drills 1" to 12", one-piece SDS-Max core bits 2" to 6" and carbide modular cores for sleeves and mains.
- Slab, Rebar & Demo: 14" and 4" to 7" diamond wheels, rebar cutters and punchers, SDS-Max and SDS-Plus chisels and bull points.
- Strut, Rod & Conduit: portable band saw blades 27-3/16" to 44-7/8", Walter chop saw and cut-off wheels, metal-cutting circular blades and metal recips.
- Panels & Enclosures: bi-metal and carbide-tipped hole saws 9/16" to 6", electrician's kits, step drills, hex-shank jobbers and Silver & Deming drills.
- Pipe Fab & Weld Prep: PIPEFITTER and HP XX grinding wheels, ALLSTEEL TURBO flap discs, stationary saw wheels, COMBO ZIP cut-and-deburr wheels, wire cup brushes and carbide burrs.
- Stainless & Liquid Cooling: ZIP STAINLESS and other contaminant-free wheels, stainless wire brushes, carbide-tipped hole saws and burrs for 304 and 316 cooling loops.
Dust and clean build
Drilling, coring and cutting concrete releases respirable crystalline silica. Run a shroud on a HEPA-filtered extractor or cut wet where the job allows, and follow your company's exposure control plan. Spark-heavy abrasive cutting usually gets pushed to a cut station or the fab shop, which is where the chop and stationary saw wheels on this page live.

Common questions
Do you sell to subcontractors or only to the owner?
Subcontractors. On a data center job the electrical, mechanical and coring subs buy their own consumables, so that is who we set accounts up for. We set up accounts for owners and general contractors too.
Will your bits fit the rotary hammers we already own?
Yes, if the hammer takes SDS-Plus or SDS-Max. The shank is the standard, not the brand, so any SDS-Plus bit fits any SDS-Plus hammer and the same goes for SDS-Max. Stop bits are sized to standard drop-in anchors.
Can you deliver to a badged site?
We ship to any address you give us: the laydown yard, the jobsite trailer or your fab shop. Put the job and PO number on the order and it prints on the packing slip. Orders placed by 4 PM Eastern ship the same business day.
