Walter COOLCUT XX is the ceramic disc at the top of the range, built on Walter's Cyclone grain blend. Ceramic grain fractures as it wears instead of dulling, so the disc keeps cutting well past the point where an aluminum oxide disc has stopped doing useful work — Walter rates it at roughly six times the stock removal and twice the cutting speed of a standard sanding disc. It holds a consistent finish across steel, stainless and aluminum, which is why it is the one to reach for on mixed work. It wants a powerful grinder and steady pressure to stay in its self-sharpening cycle. This is the 5" 60 grit disc in ceramic, for a 7/8" arbor. Priced per disc, sold by the box of 50.
